Jeff’s background includes over 25 years private sector business experience, currently working as Vice President of Sales for a US manufacturing company, and working as a counselor in K-12 schools while completing his Master’s degree in Education-Counseling in 2000.
Your voice and feedback are important to our school district, and Jeff looks forward to meeting you at our schools and in the community to learn your thoughts about our schools.
Important Issues: One of our top priorities should always be safety. In this election, the Anoka-Hennepin community will decide on bond/levy questions that have a main focus on improving the safety of our facilities by eliminating portable classrooms, as well as remodeling, to create safer schools. These questions also address additional space needs for our growing communities, school updates, and lowering class size.
In addition to safety, we must always focus on student achievement, and preparing students for success in the future. Anoka-Hennepin has had great results with our district outpacing the State at all levels, but we need to continue to improve to allow ALL students the opportunity to reach their high potential. To this end, our district has prioritized many strategic investments in math, reading, and study skills to continue our upward achievement trend.
We also must continue to push for equitable and stable state funding for Anoka-Hennepin.
Goals if Elected:
Safety – Enhance our building security, and make sure that our schools are a safe place for our students, teachers, staff, and the community.
Student Achievement – Continue to use data driven decisions, and our district experts, (administration, teachers, and staff), to focus our strategic investments for students to become even better prepared for future success.
Community Input – Board members are the community’s voice, and input from the community is very important for the direction of our district.
Transparency – All stakeholders should have complete information about decisions and direction for our school district.
Positive Culture – Focus on open communication between all (administration, teachers, staff, and community), continuous improvement for all areas of our district, using data to drive our decisions, and continue and enhance the process of setting strategic priorities so that everyone knows of Anoka-Hennepin School District’s direction.
