LINO LAKES, Minn. – (Jan. 11, 2018) – After much discussion, Lino Lakes has decided to cut a staff position and several youth programs.
Lino Lakes and the Centennial School District held several meetings over the last six months in an effort to come to an agreement regarding rental fees for city programs taking place in district buildings.
After much discussion and negotiation, the efforts to come to an agreement failed. As a result, the city council approved the elimination of one parks and rec staff position and the city will now cut dozens of programs.
The city has stated that they will focus on their core annual events and make those even better. The city council noted that many of the programs the city used to run have been replicated by the school district. The Centennial School District has students from five different cities, including Lino Lakes.
