HEIDI FUST
About:
My name is Heidi Fust, and I am running for Lexington City Council because I care deeply about the community we call home. I am an Environmental Health and Safety and Maintenance Manager for a Minnesota medical device manufacturer, where I lead safety, facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, and improvement efforts. My work has taught me how to listen carefully, solve practical problems, manage resources responsibly, and bring people together around shared goals.
I also volunteer in disaster response within Anoka County and serve in an external advisory role supporting hazardous-waste worker training, experiences that have strengthened my commitment to preparedness, teamwork, and protecting people.
I value honesty, fairness, transparency, and respectful collaboration. Outside of work, I enjoy Minnesota’s outdoors, including camping, kayaking, exploring nature, and collecting agates. That appreciation for the places we call home strengthens my commitment to Lexington and the people who live here.
I am not running with a personal agenda. I am running to listen, learn, ask thoughtful questions, and help make decisions that serve residents well.
Important Issues:
Lexington is a small city with a strong identity, and decisions should reflect the people who live here. The issues most important to me are transparent and responsive local government, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, safe and well-maintained neighborhoods, and thoughtful growth that respects our community.
Residents, whether they rent or own their homes, should feel heard and informed. City services should be reliable, priorities should be clear, and spending decisions should be made carefully with both current needs and long-term impacts in mind. Growth and improvement should add value without losing the qualities that make Lexington feel like home.
Goals if Elected:
If elected, my first goal will be to listen and learn: understand city operations, hear from residents and staff, and build productive working relationships. I will ask clear questions, communicate openly, and approach decisions with preparation, fairness, and respect.
I want to help make city information easier for residents to understand and strengthen opportunities for community input. I will support practical planning, responsible budgeting, dependable infrastructure and services, and thoughtful decisions that consider both renters and homeowners.
I will bring a safety-focused, problem-solving mindset to the council while remembering that local government is ultimately about people. My goal is not to promise that I will have every answer. It is to do the work, seek the facts, and remain accountable to the residents of Lexington.
