CENTERVILLE, Minn. – . The cities of Circle Pines, Columbus, Hugo, Lexington, and Lino Lakes plan on partnering with Centerville in a salt management program. The program will be paid for by a sixty-five thousand dollar grant from the Rice Creek Watershed District.
The program aims reduce the amount of salt used on roads because of the level of salt that pollutes lake water every winter. This project will require that each of these cities submit an annual report listing the quantity and type of salt products used for the next half decade.
