COON RAPIDS, Minn. – After the resignation of Kathy Tingelstad in March, the Anoka-Hennepin School Board has finally named someone to fill in her position.
Jeff Simon was sworn into office by Anoka-Hennepin School Board Chair, Tom Heidemann at the board’s July 9th meeting. Heidemann explained that the process to fill the vacated seat took longer than usual because the School Board had to wait for new district lines to be finalized.
Simon will finish Tingelstad’s term, which expires in January 2014. School Board members used 14 different criteria to score resumes and selected four applicants to interview, Simon was determined to be the best candidate.
