COON RAPIDS, Minn. – Amir Taylor, the nine year old who was injured in the incident remains hospitalized but has been upgraded from critical to serious condition in the last week. He is off a ventilator and breathing on his own. His family has reported he is making slow progress and he has a long recovery ahead of his.
Authorities this week impounded a vehicle that might have been the pickup truck that hit Taylor. The vehicle was dropped off at a repair shop and a suspicious shop owner alerted police. Police have processed the truck and served a search warrant on the home of the truck’s registered owner. Now police are awaiting the results of forensic testing which could take several weeks or even months. Until the results of those tests are know the sheriff’s office is stating that they do not have conclusive evidence that the truck they impounded is the truck from the accident.
