PERRY KORZENOWSKI
About:
My name is Perry Korzenowski, and I am seeking your vote for Spring Lake Park City Council. Spring Lake Park is more than a place to live – it’s home. In 2012 I built my home and raised my daughter here. I have worked for the United States Postal Service for almost thirty years as a letter carrier and deliver mail in the same neighborhoods in which we live. In the time of my employment with the USPS, twenty seven of those years I was an elected union steward for the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 9 representing my members in contractual grievances and negotiating settlements to their benefit.
I believe my aforementioned experiences and my constant contact with the residents of Spring Lake Park would make me an excellent voice of the residents to help shape our city for the community’s benefit.
Important Issues:
Keeping this city safe and secure is my number one priority. Our police department has done an excellent job of doing just that. For the past four years, our crime rates have declined because of their efforts and I plan on making sure they have the tools and resources to keep that trend going. Next would be essential services via our public works. Ensuring our residents receive the same or greater level of services they have come to expect. As this city grows, I would make sure that growth comes with smart decisions that would benefit local businesses and residents alike. As the economy keeps squeezing our wallets, I will actively search for ways to save money without compromising the services we come to expect here. Everyone is feeling the stress from raising tax rates, and I plan on minimizing that stress to the best of my abilities.
Goals if Elected:
I’m running for City Council because I believe in common-sense leadership, thoughtful decision making, and putting people before politics. I will listen to your concerns, be transparent in my actions, and always work to make Spring Lake Park an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
The community has given me so much, and I want to give back by helping guide our city toward a strong, vibrant, and welcoming future for all.
I would be honored to earn your support and your vote.

APRIL MORAN
About:
I am a social worker in the child welfare sector, where I have the privilege of supporting children, youth, and families. One of the cornerstones of who I am is being a lifelong learner. I genuinely enjoy learning from others, listening to different perspectives, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
I have carried that same commitment to learning into my civic engagement. My first term in office was an outstanding learning experience that challenged me to listen, ask questions, understand different viewpoints, and grow as a community leader.
I believe we are at our best when we listen to one another, approach conversations with respect, and recognize that we do not always have to agree to work together. I value collaboration, thoughtful dialogue, and creating spaces where people feel heard and respected.
Whether through my work in child welfare or my involvement in the community, I strive to lead with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to learn. I believe there is always an opportunity to learn from the people around us and use that knowledge to better serve our communities.
Important Issues:
One of the issues that is important to me is continuing to support the programs and services that make Spring Lake Park a great community. Our city programs are growing, which is exciting, but growth also brings important questions: How do we continue providing these services while being responsible with taxpayer dollars? How do we keep taxes reasonable while investing in the programs our residents value?
Spring Lake Park also has limited space for traditional growth. This makes thoughtful planning for our future especially important. We need to look creatively at how we use the space we have and how we can continue to provide opportunities, services, and amenities for residents.
I want to be part of conversations that balance maintaining the things that make our community special with planning responsibly for what comes next. Our goal should be a sustainable future where we can continue investing in our community.
Goals if Elected:
If elected, my goal is to continue building on the strengths that make Spring Lake Park a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
I would focus on three key areas:
Responsible Growth: Continue supporting programs and services that residents value while being thoughtful about the financial impact. I want to find ways to grow our programs without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers.
Planning for the Future: With limited space for development, we need to think creatively about how we use what we have. I want to support long-term planning that ensures our community continues to have opportunities, services, and amenities for generations to come.
Community Engagement: I want residents to feel heard and included in the decisions that affect them. Good leadership means listening to different perspectives, asking questions, and working respectfully with others—even when we disagree.
