The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office will hold a public forum on March 14 regarding the use of body cameras.

The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department organized a charity hockey game pitting local firefighters against local police officers and this week, the teams took the ice at the Schwan’s Super Rink as a large crowd cheered them on.

LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL OPENS DORM

A high school in Spring Lake Park is getting ready to expand. Life Prep Academy is a small private school that will provide education, a place to live, food and clothes to homeless and high-risk youth. The school has been open for a few years, but they just finished building the dorm, allowing more students to come.

THE STATE EXPECTS $329 MILLION SURPLUS

The State of Minnesota received some good news this week in the amount of half a billion dollars.
