BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 14, 2017) – The Target on Highway 65 in Blaine will soon be adding a liquor store. Target recently acquired the rights to the liquor operation currently run by Tournament Liquor which is just across 109th Avenue from Target.
Blaine city ordinance does not allow liquor stores to be within one mile of each other. With the agreement Tournament Liquor will close at the end of January allowing Target to apply to the city for the open liquor license.
Target is not buying the Tournament building, that will be redeveloped by the current owners into a new business. Target will add the liquor store in the front of their current building and it was have an entrance built in to one of the existing vestibules.
This would be the first liquor store inside of a big box retailer in Blaine.
