Spring Lake Park Tower Days Community Celebration kicks off on June 6.

One of Blaine’s most popular parks is just about ready to open for the season. The beach at Lakeside Commons Park will open for the summer on June 7.

If you are interested in keeping parks in the county clean and beautiful, the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department could use your help.

The long-awaited arrival of warm weather means an increase in visits to local and state parks across Minnesota. One local company has decided to make these park visits even more enjoyable for families by volunteering their time after work hours to clean a Blaine park.

Sheriff James Stuart presented an Honorary Deputy Sheriff award to longtime Anoka County resident Stan Kowalski. Mr. Kowalski was honored for his long history of service – both to the nation and his community here in Minnesota.

Every Memorial Day, many in our community visit local cemeteries to pay respects to those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Local law enforcement agencies are issuing a reminder to motorists and passengers alike—Click it or Ticket. Extra patrols across the state will take to the road the week of May 20 – June 2, looking for drivers and passengers who aren’t wearing their seat belts.
