The district’s Community Curriculum Advisory Council (CCAC), composed of parents/guardians and employees, will add community representatives this school year and interested community members are invited to apply.

Anoka County Parks Department contractors recently began construction of approximately 3.5 miles of off-road bicycle paths in two different parts of Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park near Lino Lakes and Centerville. The single track trails are formalizations of user-created and maintained trails that are offshoots of the extensive paved trails in the area.

More than six weeks into the school year, local school bus companies say they are still in need of drivers.  The shortage persists even with large sign on bonuses.

Voters in the Anoka-Hennepin school district are deciding three questions that will impact school budgets over the next ten years.  At a series of public meetings, in mailings to tax payers, and in on-line videos, the district is working hard to get information about levy questions into the hands of voters.

The City of Circle Pines is continuing its dispute with Anoka County leaders over who the county can appoint to the Rice Creek Watershed Board of Managers.

They experienced a COVID outbreak that hit 40 percent of the residents and several staff members. So now the Stepping Stone Emergency Shelter is currently empty. All residents have been moved back to a hotel.
