HY-VEE CAN’T PROMISE IT WILL START ON BLAINE STORE THIS YEAR, DESPITE EXTENSION

Hy-Vee asked the city for a one-year extension of its conditional use permit for the land it acquired across Main Street from Blaine High School in late 2018.  Preliminary site work and grading was completed on the plot, which is very close to a large neighborhood and Jefferson Middle School, about a year ago, and nothing has happened there since.

COULD THE PANDEMIC END UP SAVING CHOMONIX GOLF COURSE? MAYBE.

Figures show that greens fees, golf cart rentals, and driving range rounds were up much higher than forecasted for 2020, while facility rentals, food and beverage sales, and advertising sales were down.

STUDENTS MAY CHOOSE VIRTUAL LEARNING IN THE FALL

Schools have re-opened to in person classes, but some students are still learning virtually at home by their own choice. The Anoka-Hennepin District is now registering families that want to continue virtual learning in the fall.

ANOKA-HENNEPIN RETAIL BOUTIQUE RE-OPENS

Forty students get hands-on work experience refurbishing gifts and furniture which are then sold to the public in the home decor shop. After a lengthy closure, the store is re-open to the public.
