HURRICANE HEROES: BLAINE RESIDENTS BRING SUPPLIES TO SW FLORIDA

In late September, Hurricane Ian blew through Southwest Florida, leaving a swath of destruction. Fort Myers and surrounding towns were in the bulls eye of this super storm.

Jackie Egan and Rick Bandimere – who work for Keller Williams Realty in Blaine – both have connections to Fort Myers. They sprang into action once they realized how bad things were in the Sunshine State.

SPRING LAKE PARK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BUILD A HOUSE

A class at Spring Lake Park High School is bringing students out of the classroom and onto a job site. This class is a part of the high school’s career and college readiness program. It introduces students to skills needed for careers ranging from construction to video game design to nursing.

SCHOOLS IN MINNESOTA REPORT LOWEST SCORES IN A DECADE

The Nation’s Report Card shows how school systems across the United States are faring, and it doesn’t look well for most states. Minnesota’s 4th and 8th graders saw a decrease in math and reading scores – although these 4th and 8th graders scored higher than the national average, its still the lowest score seen in decades.
