SCHOOL MEALS PRICES ARE GOING UP

School meal prices are set to go up for Anoka-Hennepin students. For two years, meals have been provided at no cost through a federal program.  That program ends when school finishes this spring.  So as students start paying for lunches again, they will see prices a little higher than before.

TOM NEWLAND TO JOIN BLAINE CITY COUNCIL

Council received seven applications from residents to fill the opening that former council member Jason Smith left behind. Upon review, council chose Newland to fill the remainder of Smith’s term, which lasts through the end of the year.

EXPANSION PLANS FOR FAST GROWING SUNRISE ELEMENTARY

Plans have been made to move about 120 prospective kindergarteners to Johnsville Elementary for one year. That’s a short term fix.  Now plans are being made for a $7 million addition that would add 8 classrooms to Sunrise by the fall of 2023. There would be room for 200 more students.
