Blaine city councilmember Richard Paul faces criminal charges after allegedly threatening two of Blaine’s police officers.

SOME SUNRISE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WILL ATTEND JOHNSVILLE NEXT YEAR

This week, the Anoka-Hennepin School board voted on a plan to deal with overcrowding at Sunrise Elementary School in Blaine. Even though the school just opened in 2019, school leaders will be moving more than 100 students to a different school next year.

The Minnesota Tech Corridor became the name for the project, as Anoka and Washington County leaders joined with city leaders in that region in touting the benefits.

ANOKA COUNTY ATTORNEY WILL NOT SEEK RE-ELECTION

Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo announced that he will not seek re-election to the Office of Anoka County Attorney and, after 45 years in the office, will retire at the end of 2022.

SCHOOLS TAKE TIME TO THANK BUS DRIVERS ON ANNUAL APPRECIATION DAY

According to the Minnesota School Bus Operators Association, this was the sixth annual celebration of those entrusted with getting thousands of students safely to and from school each day.
