Centerville is extending a program to help local merchants pay for freeway signs to bring business into town. Merchants and city officials see traffic on nearby Interstate 35E as an untapped market. They would like to bring more motorists off the freeway and into town to buy gas and eat.

Anoka County Parks Department contractors recently began construction of approximately 3.5 miles of off-road bicycle paths in two different parts of Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park near Lino Lakes and Centerville. The single track trails are formalizations of user-created and maintained trails that are offshoots of the extensive paved trails in the area.
