BIKE HELMET EVENT DRAWS A BIG CROWD

Public safety officials agree putting on a bike helmet before you ride should be as automatic as buckling your seat belt in a car.  SBM Firefighters are making sure those helmets fit properly and are in good condition.  Their annual sale and helmet fitting clinic is so popular, 16 cars were lined up and waiting before the doors to Fire Station #3 in Blaine were even opened.

ANOKA-RAMSEY RENEWS EQUITY AND INCLUSION EFFORT

Brandyn Woodard is leading a renewed effort at Anoka-Ramsey Community College to address issues of diversity and closing learning gaps. Woodard recently took over a new position as Vice President of Equity and Inclusion. He says meeting with students about their needs and bringing in more diverse faculty are two early steps toward improving student success.

FUNDRAISING GROUP TO HELP FOOD SHELF EXPAND

Hope for the Community Food Shelf finished 2020 serving 43,000 families more than 2 million pounds of groceries.  A year after the start of a pandemic that cost many families jobs, Dr. Alan Goracke, founder of Hope for the Community, says the need is still great.
