About the candidate: Hey Neighbor! My name is Chris Massoglia. I’m 32 years old. My wife Shauna & I live in Blaine with our son and daughter. Becoming a husband and dad has been two of the highlights of my life thus far! I was first elected to the City Council in 2020, and it’s been an honor to be your voice at City Hall.
Important Issues:
Goals if Elected:
- Shepherd the city through the years of HWY 65 construction. Partner at the county and state levels to prepare local roads to handle the construction years.
- Continue to fund Blaine PD and see crime decrease.
- Fund and explore economical solutions for Fire (moving from volunteer model to duty crew model).
- Fulfill the vision of the 105th Sports and Entertainment District, bringing unique, fun, and exciting amenities into Blaine. Instead of spending 30+ Million on a publicly funded community center (voted down twice in Blaine), we’re working hard to incentivize public/private partnerships. We’re working to bring in a unique event stadium, indoor gym space, open spaces for festivals and holiday light displays, hotels with a waterpark or swimming option, indoor playgrounds, upscale grocers, and other amenities that can serve families.
- Slow high-density residential growth where possible and focus on incentivizing commercial development.
- Explore a film incentive program.
Endorsements: None listed.
