In 2025, voters will elect two members of the Circle Pines City Council. There are three candidates on the ballot.
About: Hi there! I’m Meagan Bachmayer, your neighbor and a current member of the Circle Pines City Council.
Giving back to my community has always been important to me. Over the years, my career has taken me from working at the Minnesota legislature to the book publishing industry and, most recently, to co-founding a performing arts nonprofit inspired by my lifelong love of music and music education.
Closer to home, I’m the mom of a kindergartener at Golden Lake Elementary. As a family, we play at our parks, explore the trails, and sign up for lots of community ed activities!
I was inspired to serve on the City Council because of all the wonderful things happening here in Circle Pines: our beautiful parks and trails, strong infrastructure, great schools, and the safe, welcoming environment that makes this such a special place to raise a family. It’s a privilege to work alongside my council colleagues, our city staff, and our police and fire departments to take care of the community we all share.
Important Issues: Here’s a quick snapshot of the biggest projects your city council is working on:
- Finishing a decades long replacement of aging streets and sewers
- Working with our police and fire departments to make sure they have what they need to serve our community
- Planning for upgrades to two parks—Carl Eck and Baldwin
With every issue that comes up, big or small, I am grateful that we have a City Council where everyone shows up with different perspectives, but one shared goal—do our best to serve our neighbors. To me that means being a good steward of our tax dollars and shared community resources, helping neighbors connect with one another and their city government, and building on our strong foundation by finding and seizing opportunities to make our community even better for everyone.
Goals if Elected: If I have the honor of continuing to serve as your councilmember, my goals for our city will include the following:
Keep local government affordable
Let’s continue to live within our means and plan for a sustainable future by maintaining a “Goldilocks” budget—not too big, not too small, just right.
Invest in community
Let’s create more opportunities to come together across neighborhoods, because a connected community is a welcoming, safe, and rewarding place to live.
Punch above our weight
We might be a small town of just over 5,000 people, but we have and can continue to deliver big city services to our community through creative, innovative partnerships.

About: I am Nici Dorner, a Circle Pines resident since 2012. My husband and I have two boys ages 11 and 8 and we adore living in Circle Pines. We love to kayak on Golden Lake, play in the parks and enjoy biking on our trails. You will often see me riding through our city on a bike named “Beastie”. Please, say “hi”! I love talking with people and their pets! My eldest boy is a baseball and basketball player, and I love connecting with our community at sporting events. I am a Circle Pines City Council member who serves on the CLPD Police Governing Board and it’s an honor to do both.
Important Issues: Public safety is our city’s top priority. I will continue to fund and equip our police and fire fighters.
I use our parks and trails daily. They are beautiful and an asset to our city. I will protect and enhance them for future generations.
Goals if Elected: I will ensure our city supports our public safety departments to keep their service levels high. Similarly I will push for improvements to our parks to make them great for users of all ages. Lastly, it’s important to keep our government open and accessible. I will connect with our citizens through council meetings, community events, and at doorsteps.
