That’s right, the cult, Minnesota home grown phenomenon is coming back to our TVs sometime in 2016. For the past couple of weeks, show creator, original host, and MN native Joel Hodgson has been running a terrifically successful Kickstarter that, as of this writing, has already raised more than $3.5 million, making it the second most successful film/video project in Kickstarter history. That’s huge! But MST is an expensive show to produce (those movies they make fun of aren’t cheap, y’know) and that money will only fund six new episodes. So if you want to find out how you can help them raise the $5.5 million needed for a new season, head over to kickstarter.com/projects/mst3k/bringbackmst3k won’t you?
In the meantime, all of us here at NMTV public access are head over heels for the return of the cow town puppet show made good. In celebration, we’re teaming up with MST folks to bring you a free screening of a classic Mystery Science Theater episode right here at NMTV! NMTV is located at 12520 Polk St NE in Blaine, MN 55434.
On Thursday December 10 at 6:30PM in our very own Studio A, we’ll show the hilarious holiday classic Santa Claus Conquers the Martian, complete with commentary from Joel and the ‘bots! We want a big turn out for this event to help show potential networks how many MST fans are out there. That said, space is still limited, so be sure to RSVP with eric@northmetrotv.com today to ensure your seat!
See you for movie sign!
*Really a big studio curtain, but no one needs to know that, right?
