(BLAINE) – The PGA Tour officially unveiled its 2021 schedule, and the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities will tee off Thursday, July 22, one day before the opening of the postponed 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
COVID-19 pandemic regulations kept fans away from the golf tournament in Blaine this summer (and was the reason for the postponement of the Games).
Because golf is now a summer Olympic sport, its conceivable that the many of the world’s top golfers may skip coming to the Twin Cities in favor of travel or acclimation to Japan so they can compete for a gold medal.
The 2021 Open Championship will happen in England just two weeks before the 3M Open, also.
