COON RAPIDS, Minn. – A nine-year-old child, Amir Kahron Taylor, was the victim of a hit and run this week in Coon Rapids. The boy was riding his bike near 111th Avenue and Kumquat Street around 7pm on Wednesday evening. The boy was hit by a pickup truck and suffered massive injuries and it is not known if the boy will survive. The driver of the truck did not stop or report the accident to police.
According to witnesses at the scene the vehicle is a full size black or dark colored 1993–98 Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck with an extended cab and two doors. The vehicle has damage to the side and one of the side mirrors was dangling after the accident. The driver is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s with short blonde hair and a “scraggly” unshaven face.
