ANOKA, Minn. – (Feb. 11, 2016) – As voters in New Hampshire were lining up to vote in their presidential primary, voters in Anoka were electing the newest member of the State Senate.
In a landslide victory, former State Representive, Republican Jim Abeler won the Senate District 35 race.
Jim Abeler (R) – 73.69%
Roger Johnson (DFL) – 21.56%
Zachary Phelps (Legal Marijuana Now) – 4.1%
This was a special election to fill the seat until the next general election this November. The special election was needed after Branden Peterson resigned the seat in October.
