BLAINE, Minn. – (Sept. 22, 2016) – As a sign that Election Day is closer than ever, absentee balloting begins September 23 both by mail and in person. Every city hall will have pop up balloting booths. Any legal voter can vote in advance of election day by completing an absentee ballot. All absentee voters must complete an application online or through the mail.
A ballot will mailed within two business days of receiving the application. Instructions will be on the ballot. In Anoka County in-person absentee voting is available on weekdays during normal business hours. A resident can cast an in-person absentee ballot at they city in which they reside or at the Anoka County Elections office. Absentee voting ends November 7 at 5 p.m. The general election takes place November 8.
