BLAINE, Minn. – (February 12, 2015) – Achieve Services is a non-profit organization in Blaine that works to provide jobs and training for adults with developmental disabilities. They recently started producing a new product in order to increase jobs and revenue for their clients.
“Historically we’ve been pretty relevant on government funding and that funding is dwindling so we were faced with the challenge of having to figure out a way to replace that revenue and we thought why we might as well create some more good jobs for our people,” said Achieve Services CEO Tom Weaver. Weaver came up with the idea to produce a natural, environmentally friendly laundry detergent in order to increase both revenue and job opportunities called Achieve Clean.
“This we thought was a great opportunity for us to not only create some jobs but to raise some revenue to support programs for people with developmental disabilities,” said Business Development Specialist Alex Carlson. But most importantly, Achieve Clean helps provide jobs and services to the adults with disabilities that work at Achieve Services.
“One of the unique things about this product is every time you do a load of wash, you’ll smile. You’re washing with a cause. Every purchase of this product goes right back to supporting people with disabilities and creating jobs,” said Weaver. Achieve Clean detergent is currently sold online, but soon Achieve Services will be working with a distributor to have it sold in stores.
