COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The charges in the murder of the 18-year-old woman whose body was found in a towed car in Columbia Heights have gotten more severe. 23-year-old Alberto Palmer was indicted by a grand jury for murder in the first degree in the death of Brittany Clardy. Palmer was originally charged with second degree murder in early March.
Bail for Palmer remains at $2 million; his next court appearance is scheduled for June 27th. According to the criminal complaint filed in March, Palmer murdered Brittany Clardy on February 11th, 2013.
Palmer has several outstanding felony warrants for assault and kidnapping from Georgia.
