ANOKA, Minn. – (April 2, 2015) – For the next six months, Anoka County will have state grant dollars for Ebola preparedness. The county was recently awarded a public health grant that runs through September. The $40,000 grant was awarded to the county because there is an Ebola treatment facility in the county, and there is a substantial West African population in the area.
There is currently one known case of Ebola in the United States. A health worker in Sierra Leone tested positive on March 10, and was evacuated to an Ebola treatment center in Maryland where he is undergoing treatment.
