ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. – (Sept. 28, 2017) – Taxes in Anoka County will be going up next year. The county board approved their preliminary 2018 property tax levy this week, and it sees a 3.9 percent over the current levy.
The county says that the increasing cost of health insurance for their employees, along with more public safety needs are driving the increase.
The county plans to use some of the money to hire seven new positions at the Sheriff’s Office and four new dispatchers at the 911 emergency communications center. The county board will vote to adopt the final levy in December.
