ANOKA, Minn. – (Feb. 4, 2016) – Just years after closing eight schools in their district, the Anoka-Hennepin School District is looking at their future facility needs.
With enrollment back on the upswing, they are wondering if they will have enough space for future students. Big population gains are expected in Blaine and other cities in the district, so they could be facing a space crunch in a few years.
The first step will be a community task force that will begin to study the needs and look at the next 10 to 20 years down the road. The district plans to take a slow approach to studying the options and would not ask voters to approve a bond referendum until at least 2017.
