COON RAPIDS, Minn. – (Nov. 5, 2015) – As families were dining at the Coon Rapids Applebee’s last weekend a woman was left bloodied after an argument all because she was not speaking English. According to the criminal complaint Jodie Burchard-Risch and her husband were upset by the fact that a woman in a neighboring booth were not speaking English. She then allegedly began to yell at the woman. Restaurant managers attempted to remove Burchard-Risch.
She refused and continued to yell at the woman and proceeded to throw her drink at the victim. Finally, Burchard-Risch punched the woman in the face with her beer mug. The victim suffered deep lacerations on her face and was missing part of her lip. Burchard-Risch left the restaurant and was followed by an Applebee’s manager until the police arrived and arrested her. Burchard-Risch has previously been convicted of assault and in this case has been charged with third-degree assault, which could result in a five year prison sentence.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the victim with paying for medical bills. For more information click here.
