UPDATE – (Jan. 29, 2018) – Ja-Kari Brown has been located. He was voluntarily surrendered to Anoka County Child Protection by a relative of one of the parents. The missing person alert has been cancelled.
The whereabouts of the parents are still unknown and both still have active warrants for their arrest.
COON RAPIDS, Minn. – (Jan. 25, 2018) – The Anoka County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help finding a missing 10 month-old boy. They say that Ja-Kari Brown was ordered to be turned over to child protective services, but the parents did not comply. He has been missing since the beginning of December.
His parents are Sharona Jefferson, 27, and James Lavell Brown, 32. Jefferson recently lived in Coon Rapids.
Authorities also say that Ja-Kari has serious medical needs. If you have any information on the location of Ja-Kari or his parents, you are asked to call the sheriff’s office at 763-427-1212, or call 911.
