BLAINE, Minn. – (May 9, 2018) – In the last few days, there have been several black bear sightings across the north metro. A bear was reported in Andover, and there were two sightings in Mounds View.
The Minnesota DNR has been seeing the black bear’s range slowly expanding southward and more into the metro area. If you see a black bear outside of their primary range, shown in black on this map, you are encouraged to the report the information to the DNR. When reporting you will be asked when and where you saw the bear, how many there were, and what the bear was doing.
