BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 15, 2016) – The TCF Bank on County Road 10 near Northtown was robbed by a man who used a threatening letter demanding money.
Trent Theodore Nelson, 46, has been charged with second-degree aggravated robbery after he allegedly handed a teller a note saying, “put $10,000 in a bag or I will kill you.”
He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A Spring Lake Park officer indicated seeing a possible suspect in the Northtown Mall area. Local law enforcement agencies formed a perimeter around the Northtown Mall area and Nelson was found a short time later after he was seen getting into a taxi cab. When he was apprehended he had a bag with large sums of cash.
