BLAINE, Minn. – (Feb. 27, 2020) – A Blaine city council member recently volunteered to help the police department with ice water rescue training.
Council member Julie Jeppson hopped into freezing water while the newest members of the Blaine Police Department trained with the Spring Lake Park – Blaine – Mounds View Fire Department.
Jeppson joined the officers to experience their training first hand, and at the same time, she used it as a way to raise more than five thousand dollars for Stepping Stone Emergency Housing – the non-profit homeless shelter in Anoka where she works as executive director.
