BLAINE, Minn. – Since 2010 no other suburb in the Twin Cities has grown more than Blaine. Blaine has gained more residents between 2010 and 2012 than any other suburb in the metro area. Over 3,000 new residents moved into Blaine during that time period.
Blaine is also closing in on another population milestone. Blaine now trails Coon Rapids by only 1,651 residents. If the population growth continues its recent trends Blaine will soon take over Coon Rapids as the largest city in Anoka County.
Overall, the seven-county metro area grew by more than 59,000 people between 2010 and 2012; more than 2.9 million people currently live in the greater Twin Cities area.
