BLAINE, Minn. – (June 18, 2015) – The 45th annual Blaine Festival hosted at Aquatore Park, June 26 through June 28; will be buzzing with people, music, contests and games. Volunteers in the city of Blaine are working hard to present a weekend of fun and wallet-friendly entertainment.
Kat Smithe, a festival committee member, said, “We strive to keep everything as economical as possible. It’s free admittance, free parking; there are very few events that cost you extra money.”
Even if you are not able to come and enjoy all the various activities throughout the weekend, Smithe offered suggestions for the best times to attend:
“If you’re going to come for a few hours, I would suggest Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon. We have a bunch of new things going on on Sunday. We have the RAD Zoo coming this year- the Reptile Amphibian Discovery, which should be pretty cool.”
Smithe is looking forward to the parade, kid’s tractor pull, and the musical entertainment, but she is especially excited for one event this year.
“It’s called the Ugly Dog Contest and it’s sponsored by Advanced Veterinary care here in town and it’s not necessarily your ugly dog. It’s a play on words and we’re looking for the big dogs, the little dogs the cute dogs, the best-dressed dogs, and the one I’m really looking forward to is owner look-alike. It should be fun.”
Join around 15,000 locals per day over the weekend for a petting zoo, karaoke contest, car show and much more.
