BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 7, 2017) – James Allen was convicted of stealing nearly $75,000 for the Sno-Baron’s Snowmobile Club by writing 78 checks to his own bookkeeping business.
Now he has to pay it all back and spend 30 days in jail.
Allen received his sentence last month and will need to start making restitution payments of a minimum of $200 per month. If he fails to make a monthly payment additional jail time will be added onto his sentence.
He also need to complete 40 hours of community service per year until all the money is repaid, although if he pays more than $250 per month his community service time will be waived.
If Allen chooses to pay the minimum amount of $200 per month it will take him more than 30 years to repay the money he stole.
