BLAINE, Minn.- (June 7, 2018)- Blaine maybe one step closer to hosting a regular stop on the PGA Golf Tour. The Champions Tour’s been coming to Blaine for the annual 3M Championship for years, but tournament organizers are working hard to secure a regular tour event starting next summer. The PGA has not released the full schedule for next season, but if an event is held at the TPC in Blaine, it’s expected to take place on the first full weekend in June. 3M would remain the title sponsor of the new PGA event. Minnesota has not had a regular stop on the PGA Tour since 1969. An announcement of the new event could be made in the next couple of weeks.
