(BLAINE) – Blaine Police Department officers worked with authorities in Wisconsin to locate a man and his sister they say are the pair who stole an un-attended Salvation Army donations kettle from outside a grocery store earlier this month.
According to a press release, 30-year-old Travis Johnson and his 24-year-old sister, Amanda, are both charged with felony possession of burglary or theft tools and misdemeanor theft.
Officers said the pair stole the kettle outside the Northtown Cub Foods on December 3. Surveillance video shows them break the chain holding the kettle and then driving away.
According to complaints, the pair was located in Wisconsin more than a week later, and Anoka County authorities were working with officers there to bring the Johnsons to Anoka to face the charges.
