(BLAINE ) – The Mary Ann Young Senior Center in Blaine closed this week. It first opened in 1982, and has had problems with ADA compliance as well as limited storage and office space.
Next week, a new building just next door will open. City council members and other city leaders got to see the nearly-finished space this week.
Mayor Tom Ryan said that the city has been working towards a new senior building for about twelve years, and he’s to see it completed.
The new Mary Ann Young Center-including a room named for Mayor Ryan–will be open for lunch by Dec. 18th , and there will be a grand opening in February.
