BLAINE, Minn – (July 27, 2017) – The City of Blaine will be hosting their very own 2017 Citizen’s Academy. Registration is now open for the eight week course that covers a wide span of topics including: traffic enforcement, code compliance, firefighting skills, drug awareness, criminal investigations and many more.
The academy provides both hands-on and classroom training while providing a behind-the-scenes look into the daily functions of the Blaine Safety Services Division. Simulations such as a motor vehicle extrication and firefighter training will be conducted by Safety Services professionals to show participants the pressures and hard work associated with working in the division.
The academy is completely free and is limited to 20 participants. Participants must be at least 18-years-old and pass a background check before they are accepted into the academy.
