BLAINE, Minn. – (Feb. 4, 2016) – Are you interested in gardening but live in an apartment or townhome? Or maybe your yard is too shady? You could consider renting a community garden plot. Blaine is beginning the rental process this week.
The Blaine Community Garden is located adjacent to Blaine City Hall’s south parking lot and consists of 48 plots. The city will prepare the soil for planting, mark each plot, and provide water access. Plots are approximately 15 feet by 20 feet and will be ready for use in early May.
Returning gardeners from 2015 have the first opportunity to claim a plot until Feb. 19 and after that the registration is opened up to any Blaine resident. If plots remain by March 7 non-residents will have the opportunity to purchase space. For more information about the community gardens contact Blaine City Hall at 763-784-6700.
