BLAINE, Minn – (June 15, 2017) – The city of Blaine has declared a State of Local Emergency, following the recent storm damage.
Residents within the city will be able to have their storm-related tree branches taken away by the city, regardless of whether or not they subscribe to a yard waste collection with their garbage hauler.
If residents would like the city to help clean up their large downed branches, residents need to cut them into sections of 8 feet or less and have them by the curb by the morning of June 19.
In addition, the citizens of Blaine can also bag up smaller branches in a compostable bag and leave it by their garbage can. Walters recycling will collect all the branches that meet the requirements stated above.
The clean up is only for storm-related yard waste, and the compost sites in the county are also open for residents to bring yard waste.
