BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 15, 2016) – The Blaine Police Department is one step closer to outfitting all their officers with body cameras.
With the support of Blaine Police Chief Chris Olson, the 2017 city budget includes funds to purchase 64 body cameras and cloud-based data storage.
All officers would receive training on the devices before they are put into use. Much of 2017 will be spent crafting the policies regarding the use of the cameras and the storage of the data collected by the cameras.
There will be opportunity for public comment on any proposed body camera policies.
