BLAINE, Minn. – (Oct. 8, 2015) – Across the state, more than 300 law enforcement agencies will be participating in this fall’s Click It or Ticket campaign, which focuses on seat belt enforcement. Minnesota law states that drivers and passengers in all seating positions must be buckled up or seated in the correct child restraint.
Under Minnesota law, officers can stop and ticket unbelted drivers or passengers. Seat belts must be worn correctly — low and snug across the hips, and shoulder straps should never be tucked under an arm or behind the back.
It is also the law that children must be in a child restraint while in the car until they are 4 foot 9 inches tall or 8-years-old, whichever comes first.
Click It or Ticket runs from October 9 through 25.
