COON RAPIDS, Minn. – (June 16, 2016) – The campground at Bunker Hills Regional Park is very popular, and is gearing up for a busy summer.
“We’ve got 71 separate, individual sites, that have segregation between all of them,” said Anoka County Park services coordinator JJ Williams.
These sites range from rustic to modern, with different options for different types of campers. They have sites for tents, sites for RVs and even two camper cabins. The camper cabins are one of the newer additions at the park, and are very popular with families or first time campers.
“They’re rustic cabins that can sleep up to six people,” said Williams.
The cabins are equipped with both heat and a ceiling fan to help provide a little bit of climate control year round.
All campers can use the park playground, bathrooms, and showers, or head over to the neighboring water park or golf course for some family fun.
“We see all sorts of people from backpackers going across the country, stopping here on their way to Alaska or California,” said Williams. “As well as just local people who are looking for a weekend camping trip with friends”
And this year is looking busy.
“Weekends we’ve been booking up pretty much every site.”
And a busy park is fun for JJ and the crew at Bunker Hills, who love seeing people having fun
“I love being able to help people enjoy outdoors.”
