LEXINGTON, Minn. – Following the work and investigation by the Centennial Lakes Police Department, eight people were indicted in federal court in connection with multiple burglaries across several states. The robbers stole money from automatic teller machines and prescription drugs from pharmacies.
Included in the indictment are charges against four individuals for their alleged role in last August’s burglary of the Lexington Walgreen’s store during which the burglars attempted to steal cash from an ATM and prescription drugs were stolen from the store’s pharmacy.
The indictment followed a multi-year investigation by a task force consisting of the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation division, the Centennial Lakes Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Secret Service, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Prior Lake Police Department, with cooperation from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force.
