BLAINE, Minn. (Sept. 27, 2013) — A vehicle crashed into a Metro Transit bus in Blaine this week, killing the lone occupant. The driver, 80-year-old Robert Allan Kimber, of Cedar, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police reports, Kimber was driving northbound on Highway 65 when he sideswiped two vehicles and then rear ended the bus at 88th Avenue. All other traffic was stopped for a red light and it has not been determined why Kimber did not stop. At this time authorities can only speculate that he may have suffered a medical condition or fallen asleep at the wheel; however, it is still unknown what actually happened.
