City officials say they are grateful for the response because it’s important for representation at both federal and state levels, and the allocation of resources from the federal government.
Statz says city officials used social media and the newsletter to urge residents to complete their census forms. But he says it’s also a civic minded community.
“I think our citizens are just engaged citizens. I think they care about their community. They have some base level of trust in the government and want to participate in government. So there’s an engagement we really enjoy from our citizenry.”
Lino Lakes also placed near the top with an 89% participation rate. That put Lino Lakes at number 6 on the list of Minnesota cities participation.
