(LINO LAKES) – On the night set aside to form bonds with the community, officers and firefighters from Centennial Lakes and Lino Lakes departments on Tuesday night.
“For our community, (it) really is about getting out, interacting with our neighborhoods, looking for those positive connections,” said Lino Lakes Public Safety Director John Swenson.
Firefighters opened fire hydrants at Birch Park to let kids play in the cool spray, while police officers opened up squads for kids to climb into. A crew from North Memorial Health Air Care also landed in one of the fleet’s Wisconsin-based helicopters so the 75 or so people in attendance could get an up-close look.
“It’s just an opportunity to have positive conversation,” said Chief Swenson.
Centennial Lakes Police officers and firefighters also attended a block party in Centerville and a gathering at Golden Lake Park in Circle Pines.
